Research Idea/topic:

Schools in current times; how distance teaching and learning process positively influence them?

Methodology to use: Quantitative methodological approach.

Regarding that the quantitative methodology is about contrasting existing theories from a series of hypotheses from a case of study or topic, by implementing surveys, and study statistics test, it becomes necessary to have a theory already built. In the same order of idea, we work on the premise that study the school system in current times. (distant teaching and learning process).

Research topic description:

According to the research idea chosen (Schools in current times, distance education) the use of online and digital tools has become apparently a support for those who study and teach the language, regarding the ease to be in communication in real synchronic class or conversation with people all around the world. English teachers for example have a variety of didactic and Dinamic tools a long with plenty of information support, that they can use in classes to make it appealing for the students.

Notwithstanding its cons are reflected on the idea that teachers face students ‘attitudes towards learning by trying to maximize the potential of online schooling when regular face to-face instruction cannot take, hence the student’s attitude at demanding real interaction for classes.

 Process:

Considering the positive potential influence that ICT tools have made in current education system and the negative impact that the pandemic Covid-19 has caused to school’s process. It was developed a survey to know how different people (students, teachers, parents) see distance teaching and learning process.

The survey was applied to ten people to know their perception of the case of study, the conclusion of the survey was also contrast to data already gathered from several studies implemented like “TALIS survey” that shows that teachers have reported high need for training in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT): 60% of teachers received professional development in ICT, while 18% reported a high need for development in this area.

The local survey also shows that 85% of student prefer to go back to classes or face to face interaction but with the integration of ICT tools software’s and online platforms.
